How long does it take before making money with a blog?

Most bloggers who dedicate the time to grow a successful blog will start seeing money come in after 4-6 months. There are courses which will give you an amazing head start on starting your blog. Many bloggers start off with a few dollars each month and then grow to a few thousand after a year. Here is more detail on how 11 mom bloggers have started profitable blogs and are earning money online, and making over $1,000 per month after a few months.

How much time does blogging take?

The first few weeks of blogging is the most overwhelming. But once you have your blog set up and you have a few posts created, it takes a few hours a week to maintain. It all depends on how much you want to post and what your vision is for your blog.

Now that my blog is established I spend about 2 hours a day on my blog, and most of that time is answering emails. In the beginning you won’t have many emails to respond to, so you can focus on creating content and building a network.

How much does it cost to blog?

Blogging is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to build a true business. In all honesty, all you need is a self-hosted blog, a decent theme (and there are plenty of great free themes) and time. A self-hosted blog costs under $5 per month, and on most sign up packages you can get a free domain name too.

Is it possible to make money with a blog?

Yes! It is very possible to make money with a blog, even if you’re a busy mom and you have little time to invest. If you can dedicate a few hours a week to growing your blog, you can build a very successful online business.

What should my first blog post be about?

This is what I recommend for launching your blog. And when I say launching, I mean advertising it to the world and letting people know you have a blog (posting to Facebook, pinning on Pinterest, emailing your friends, etc). Your site may already be live on the internet, but you’ll only get 1-2 visitors a day if you don’t send any traffic to it.
